I am Faris, a son of Da Nang. And I just condensed my city into a game.

On some afternoons standing on the Dragon Bridge looking down at the Han River, I keep thinking: how can someone who has never set foot in Da Nang still feel how cherished this city is?

I am not a tour guide. I am a creator of products. So I chose my own way — recreating the city of Da Nang with pixels.

🐉 LITTLE DANANG — a 2D farming & social game, the map drawn according to my own city:

• Dragon Bridge, Han River Bridge, Tran Thi Ly Bridge across the Han River

• My Khe Beach

• Son Tra Peninsula, Linh Ung Pagoda

• Ba Na Hills – Golden Bridge

• Ancient town of Hoi An, Japanese Covered Bridge, lantern street

• Con Market, Son Tra Night Market, Cham Museum, Tien Son Sports Center, Tra Que vegetable garden…

And the very "local" people: Mrs. Be selling cao lau, Uncle Tam on the cyclo, Miss Bay selling lottery tickets, Sister Bay at the fish market, Uncle Chin from the Tra Que vegetable garden.

In the game, you grow crops, raise livestock, fish, cook, sell at player markets, buy motorbikes – cars – boats (and still have to stop at red lights), buy land to open shops, form guilds, chat, buy lottery tickets, fall in love and get married. 1 coin = 1,000 VND, prices set according to real-life values.

One thing I am quite proud of: all the images and sounds in the game are generated by source code — the entire project does not contain a single image or mp3 file. Every pixel of the city is created by code.

The game is still in development. I am making it for a simple reason: I want the brand of Da Nang to go beyond just a check-in photo.
