Cookie Policy

A cookie is a small file your browser stores when you visit a website. Unikorn uses cookies to keep you signed in, remember your language and count page views. The list below is grouped by purpose.

1. Essential cookies

Without these cookies you cannot sign in or use your account.

Name	Purpose
authjs.session-token (or __Secure-authjs.session-token)	Keeps you signed in.
authjs.csrf-token	Protects sign-in and sign-out against forged requests.
authjs.callback-url	Remembers where to send you after signing in.
authjs.state, authjs.pkce.code_verifier	Temporary cookies used while you sign in with Google or GitHub, removed when sign-in finishes.

2. Preference cookies

Name	Purpose
NEXT_LOCALE	Remembers your display language (Vietnamese, English or Japanese).
sidebar_state	Remembers whether the sidebar is open or collapsed.

3. Unikorn analytics cookies

Name	Purpose
vid	A random visitor ID used to count views and unique visitors per page. It does not contain your name or email.
_attr	Stores the referral source (UTM parameters and landing page) when you arrive from a campaign link. It is saved to your account at sign-up and the cookie is then removed.

4. Third-party cookies

Cloudflare Turnstile: runs on forms such as product submission, contact, reviews and Talks to tell people from bots. Cloudflare may set cookies for this.
Google Analytics, Microsoft Clarity, Meta Pixel: load only when a Unikorn administrator enables them. These services then set their own cookies to measure traffic and ad performance.

5. Other browser storage

Besides cookies, Unikorn uses your browser's local storage (localStorage, sessionStorage) for interface preferences such as Uni's colour, tips you have seen or notices you have closed. This data stays on your device and is not sent to our servers.

6. Managing cookies

You can view and delete cookies in your browser settings, and you can block third-party cookies. If you block essential cookies, you will not be able to sign in.
