Lumi Typing Vietnamese is an extension that helps you type Vietnamese directly on your Mac through Lumi's extension mechanism. You don't need to install any additional input methods or change your system's keyboard settings.

The goal of the extension is to make typing Vietnamese on Mac easier: just activate it and start typing, without multiple setup steps.

Main features:

• Supports both popular typing methods, Telex and VNI; choose the one you are familiar with.
• No need to install an input method, so it won't interfere with or conflict with the existing input methods on your machine.
• Quickly switch between Vietnamese and English [with the shortcut …].

This extension is for you if you are using Lumi on Mac and need to type Vietnamese daily when messaging, writing emails, taking notes, or working.

How to install:
The extension runs on macOS 14 and above and requires the Lumi app to be pre-installed. You can download Lumi at https://lumikeys.app

1. Open Lumi and go to the extension store.
2. Search for “Lumi Typing Vietnamese” and click Install.
3. Select either the Telex or VNI typing method in the extension settings.
4. Start typing Vietnamese!

Key difference:
Lumi Typing Vietnamese runs directly within Lumi, so you don't need to install separate software or grant system permissions, and you don't have to worry about conflicts with existing input methods. The typing processing uses the Quick Typing engine (https://gonhanh.org) by author Kha Phan.
