SlideGlint — The Developer’s Presentation Engine

• SlideGlint is a desktop application that helps developers create and edit presentation content using Markdown quickly, intuitively, and lightweight.

• The application is built using a modern stack including:

  • Electron for the desktop application.

  • React + Vite + TypeScript for the user interface.

  • react-markdown to render Markdown content.

• SlideGlint supports basic file operations on the computer through a native file picker:

  • Open Markdown files.

  • Read the content of the file.

  • Save the current file.

  • Save a new file using the save-as mechanism.

• The application provides a smooth editing experience with a live preview debounce of 100ms, which helps the content display quickly while still optimizing performance.

• SlideGlint supports familiar shortcuts to enhance workflow:

  • Ctrl/Cmd + O to open a file.

  • Ctrl/Cmd + S to save a file.

• The product can be built and packaged as a Windows EXE, suitable for distribution to end users without needing to run directly from source code.

• The repo also integrates the GitHub Release Automation process, automatically building and uploading the .exe file when there's a new push or tag.
