Quire Ink is a self-hosted blog platform. One Bun process, two SQLite files, one image directory - no need to install a database, no cloud accounts in the path.

The problem it solves: writing on someone else's platform means an algorithm decides who can read your post, advertisements interrupt between sections, and a company can change the rules or shut down at any time. Quire Ink removes that middleman entirely: posts are saved as Markdown, a button to download the entire blog, and transferring to another server is just copying a directory.

Main features

• The reading page is about 100 KB, not calling any third-party services. Readers only download 4–10 KB of JavaScript; React is in the admin page, never touching the client.

• An available MCP server: plug in Claude or another AI assistant, and it creates, tags, schedules, and posts according to the rules you are using — its power is a token you can revoke anytime.

• Editing by clicking instead of coding: six bright/dark color palettes, four reading fonts, all text sizes generated from a common scale.

• Two-column book mode on paper background, five colors of highlighter ink, underlined with pencil, circled with red pen - hand-drawn strokes rather than colored blocks.

• A full set to run properly: comments without needing accounts, your newsletter via SMTP, statistics without using cookies, sitemap/RSS/llms.txt, scheduled backups to your own R2/S3, importing posts from WordPress, Ghost, Substack, Medium.

• Eleven languages both in admin and on-site, including Vietnamese.

Who should use it: solo bloggers who want to maintain their blog long-term and be in control - developers, technical writers, anyone looking to move away from WordPress or Substack. It's intentionally designed for a single owner, so it’s not suitable for newsrooms that need role assignments and editorial queues.

How to get started: you need a domain name and the cheapest VPS. There’s a script to install one command (or Docker); after that, writing, publishing, changing themes, and viewing statistics are all in the admin page, usable on mobile. What sets it apart: WordPress requires PHP, MySQL, and a bunch of plugins; Ghost needs Node and a database layer; Substack doesn’t own your blog. Quire Ink is a binary file that runs and is done, and is the first blog platform to consider the AI agent as a first-class user - the MCP server is at the core, not an added plugin.
