ReviewTrans Studio is a free, open-source software on Windows that helps to automatically translate, voice-over, and add subtitles to videos, with a video editing-style interface: dialogue table, preview frame, multi-track timeline.

PROBLEM SOLVED

Creating a review/narration video from foreign videos usually requires multiple separate tools: extracting audio, translation, voice reading, timing, obscuring hard-coded text, adding subtitles, and then exporting the video. Translating each episode separately can lead to inconsistencies in character names, forms of address, and terminology across episodes. ReviewTrans consolidates the entire process into one place and maintains a consistent translation for the entire film.

MAIN FEATURES

- Fully automated from start to finish: speech recognition (Whisper, runs offline), translation, voice-over, audio mixing, and video export. To edit any sentence, just redo that sentence.

- Common context for the entire project: glossary, characters, and forms of address (brother/sister, I/you…), plot summary. AI automatically adds information after each episode; confirmed items are locked, and AI does not modify them.

- Multiple translation and voice options: Google/Microsoft Translate and free Edge TTS voice without needing a key; or use your own API key with OpenAI, Gemini, Claude, vBee, OpenAI-compatible TTS servers. Each project, each video can use its own provider.

- Visual editing: drag and drop sentences on the timeline, subtitle styles (color, border, background box…) with presets, image/text layers, and blur areas to hide hard-coded text from the original video, toggle voice-over, original sound, and background music.

- Batch processing multiple episodes in a queue, export a 15-second test to check before final publishing.

HOW TO GET STARTED

Platform: Windows 10/11 (64-bit).

1. Download the installation file (no admin rights required) or the portable version from the Releases section on GitHub.

2. Go to Providers, select translation and voice options (there are free choices available without a key).

3. Create a project, drag and drop the video in, click "Run all", review it, then Export the video.

Completely free and open source: no limit on the number of videos, no watermark, no account registration required. Unlike single subtitle translation tools, ReviewTrans manages multiple-episode projects with an automatically updating common translation context, ensuring consistent forms of address and terminology across episodes. The application runs on your machine, with offline speech recognition; if using a paid AI service, you use your own API key, without intermediaries.
