Key features of the application:

1. Create Shadowing lessons from any video: Simply paste the YouTube link or upload your video, and the system automatically extracts sentences, adds the phonetics (Pinyin), and translates the meanings. There are 2 practice modes: — Listening + dictation: Practice listening comprehension and word recognition. — Listening + repeating: An AI scores pronunciation in detail down to each word.

2. Smart vocabulary notebook & Chinese character decomposition: This is the feature I am most proud of when learning Chinese. Vocabulary is saved in a personal notebook with a detailed Decomposition table (breaking down radicals, Han-Vietnamese sounds). Notably, the AI will automatically create a memory story for each word so you never forget. You can then review through 7 types of exercises (writing characters, fill-in-the-blanks, translation...) using the spaced repetition system.

3. AI Assistant (Companion) right in the lesson: If you don't understand any structure in the video, you can directly chat with the AI assistant. The AI reads the lesson content and will explain grammar and provide examples that are extremely relatable.

4. Practice speaking with AI (Speak with AI): Inspired by a popular recent application called Pingo AI, m has developed this speaking practice feature using Google Gemini with a similar experience:

• Diverse personalities: Chat with a strict parent, a cute girl, a friend who teases...

• Self-created scenarios: Do you want to practice interviews or going to buy milk tea? Just describe, and the AI will act along with you.

• Real-time feedback: Suggest the next sentence if you "get stuck", correct grammar mistakes as you speak, note cultural tips and idioms.

• Summarize mistakes and evaluate after each 10-minute session.

Regarding costs: The speaking practice feature uses Google Gemini API Key. Everyone should link a Visa card to pay only for what you use (don’t use the free mode as it is unstable). The cost is approximately ~3,000 VND / 10 minutes of speaking practice (this goes to Google, Shadow Learn does not charge any fees).

A few notes:

• The application runs on laptop and tablet browsers, not supported on phones.

• Privacy: All lesson data and chat history are saved directly on your machine (not stored in the cloud), ensuring privacy but will not sync between devices.

• Fully supports features for both Chinese and English (the speaking practice AI also includes Japanese).

• 100% free and open source.
