👋 Hello everyone, I play pickleball with a group of about 18 guys, on a fixed schedule of 2-4-6 every week. But in reality, not everyone can make it to every session. Some days there are 6 people, some days 10 people, and some days someone brings a friend along.

Initially, our group managed money in a very manual way: at the end of each session, whoever attended would transfer money to a person who held the fund. This method worked when the group was small, but as the group grew, it became quite exhausting 😅

The fund manager had to check continuously:

• Who attended today?
• Who has made a transfer?
• Who has not transferred?
• How to account for someone who brought a friend?
• How to split the bill for any additional food or drink?
• Who still has funds, and who is in the red?

After each session, it was necessary to message, probe, and reconcile, which took a lot of time.

From that need, I created a small app called TeamFund to make it easier for our group to manage the fund. Initially, I made it using Google Apps Script + Google Sheets in a web/PWA format for internal use. Recently, I have upgraded it to iOS for more convenience and want to share it with anyone else who may have similar needs.

The way it works is quite simple:

The admin creates a group, adds members, and funds each person in advance. After that, they can share the group code and password/view code with members so everyone can view it in read-only mode. Members can only see their balance, history, and splits, and cannot edit any data.

The process for splitting money each session is also very quick:

1. The admin selects a category, for example: Playing Pickleball, Eating, Coffee, Traveling…
2. Selects those who participated that day.
3. Enters the total amount to be split.
4. Inputs the number of slots for each person.

For example, if a person brings a friend, they can be counted as 2 slots, 3 slots for that person. The app will automatically split according to the total slots and deduct from the funds of each member.

Anyone with remaining funds will still have a positive balance. Anyone whose funds are fully deducted and in the red will have their app shown in red to remind the admin to top up. Thus, after each game, there's no need to sit and check who has made their transfers.

In addition to court fees, the app can also be used for other expenses like eating, drinking, traveling, buying balls, buying shared items… Everything can be categorized for easier filtering later.

• Manage group/team funds
• Add members and track each person's balance
• Top up funds for members
• Split money by slots
• Support people bringing friends/guests by increasing slots
• Categorize expenses: sports, food, travel, coffee…
• Members enter the group code to view data in read-only mode
• Export data to CSV/backup to JSON
• Backup and restore data
• Delete/reinstall the app or change devices while still being able to restore created groups if using the original iCloud account

The app is free for small groups with fewer than 10 members. Larger groups or those needing unlimited use can upgrade to Pro.

I made this app from the real needs of my group, so there are likely still many points to improve. Anyone who plays pickleball, badminton, tennis, soccer, or has a group needing to manage a shared fund, please give it a try and provide feedback to me.
