Time Horizon helps you "see" Time 🌌

🫣 The reason I'm doing this is quite simple: I see that there still isn't a truly good tool timeline available. 🫥

Most of the timeline tools I've tried fall into one of three categories:

• too simple, just a list of events

• nice for presentation, but not powerful enough for exploration

• doesn't give a real feel for the scale of time

Meanwhile, the problem I encountered is very everyday:
I remember many events in a discrete way, but it's very hard to visualize where they fit on the entire timeline. 😅

Knowing about the Big Bang, the extinction of the dinosaurs, Napoleon, Einstein, wars against foreign invasions, the moon landing... is one thing. But placing them all on the same axis to "feel" the distance between them is another. 🤔

🫡 So I built Time Horizon like a kind of “history engine” to visualize time better.

Currently, it has a few features I find quite enjoyable:

• Zooming from 13.8 billion years to very specific milestones on the same straight line (timeline) 👽

• Enabling multiple events collections simultaneously to see correlations between characters, civilizations, religions, inventions, Vietnamese history... 👀

• Zoom in deeply while still maintaining context, not getting lost in the big picture 🖼

• Supporting a world map below the timeline, synced with the timeline so you can visualize the scale of time through the scale of space 🤯

• Available with 54 collections (mainly AI generated), but you can still create/import your own timeline 🤝

😎 Besides learning history, I think this tool is also suitable for many very personal use cases:

• People who often forget events but want to remember them in context

• People who enjoy researching/telling stories through timelines

• People who want to recreate their life timeline: what they learned, when they changed jobs, which projects they built, turning points in life - This is my own use case

Sometimes to understand a period or to understand oneself, what is needed is not more notes, but a good enough timeline.
