An extension for Raycast that allows typing Vietnamese in Telex style (tooi ddang hocj tieengs Vieetj) and converts it to Unicode (tôi đang học tiếng Việt) with just a shortcut key. The text is replaced directly at the cursor position, working in all applications.

1. No need for a Vietnamese keyboard (IME): Type on a regular English keyboard.

1. No need to constantly switch the keyboard: There’s no need to switch the keyboard continuously when mixing Vietnamese and English. Type on a regular English keyboard. When Vietnamese is needed, select the text and press the shortcut key.

1. Automatically distinguishes English (simple): The engine has a mechanism to validate the structure of Vietnamese syllables (initial consonant → vowel → main sound → final consonant). Words like user, yes, fix, bug are kept unchanged as they are not valid in Vietnamese phonology.

1. Supports customizable skip-words: You can add a list of words to ignore for specific English words that are misidentified (e.g.: hero, list, data, host, using, ...).

How to use

1. Open Raycast, search for "Transform Vietnamese Telex - VN Textify" or assign a shortcut key (e.g.: Cmd + Shift + L).

2. Select a Telex text in any application.

3. Press the shortcut key → the text is replaced with Vietnamese Unicode on the spot.

Example:

Input:  Tooi ddang hocj tieengs Vieetj, fix bug status vaf update status cho task.

Output: Tôi đang học tiếng Việt, fix bug và update status cho task.
