🧭 What is the product

AI Translator is a desktop application (macOS and Windows) that currently provides real-time translation subtitles for any audio playing on your computer: Zoom, Microsoft Teams, Google Meet, Zalo PC, webinars, or videos. Speech recognition and translation are all powered by AI directly on your device, with the results displayed as a floating subtitle bar on the screen.

✨ Main features

1. ⚡ Floating subtitles with low latency. The translation appears immediately after the speaker finishes their sentence. The median delay is under 1.1 seconds, measured on a Mac M4 Pro with 24 GB RAM using the Standard model package. Other devices may experience longer delays.

2. 🌏 Five languages, translation in every direction. English, Chinese (中文), Japanese (日本語), Korean (한국어), and Vietnamese. The app automatically identifies the spoken language, or you can lock it to a specific language.

3. 🔒 Privacy and offline translation. Audio only resides in RAM, not written to disk, not sent over the network (verified through proxy on macOS). It can still translate even if the network is unstable or lost. No analytics, no automatic error reporting.

4. 🎛️ Customizable subtitle bar. Drag to move, change font size from 14–48 px, change text color and background color. There’s a Lock mode to let the mouse pass through the bar, along with global shortcuts to start, show/hide, and scroll back through old sentences. 5. 📚 Pro features: custom terminology dictionary (up to 500 entries, import/export CSV) to suggest translations, encoding session history stored on the device (off by default, user decides), and ability to export transcripts to TXT, SRT, or Markdown.
