CaramOS is a Linux distribution based on Linux Mint 22.3 Cinnamon (Ubuntu 24.04 LTS), specifically designed for Vietnamese users. The project is built under the ISO remaster approach: extracting the original Linux Mint ISO, customizing the rootfs with packages/overlay/hooks, and then repackaging it into the CaramOS ISO.
The goal of CaramOS is to popularize Linux — making it easier for Vietnamese users to switch from Windows to Linux, with a readily available user-friendly interface, Vietnamese typing tools, browsers, office applications, and familiar utilities.
