GreenTunnel VPN is a local VPN. The app uses the VPN feature of Android (VpnService) to handle connections directly on your phone. By default, data goes straight to the website you are accessing. Data never passes through our servers, as we do not operate any servers.

WHAT THE APP CAN DO

• Bypass DPI: some networks use DPI (Deep Packet Inspection) filters that may mistakenly block legitimate websites. GreenTunnel rearranges the first packets of the connection (for example, separates TLS packets) so that the filter does not misread, while the website still receives the correct data. Use Automatic mode, or manually select techniques.
• Encrypted DNS: domain name queries are encrypted using DNS over HTTPS or DNS over TLS and sent to Cloudflare, Google, or Quad9, or to a DoH address that you enter.
• Your list: block domains you do not want to access, and add pages like banking to the Always go straight list to prevent any interference.
• Requester: a real-time list of domains that each application connects to, along with the application name. GreenTunnel does not decrypt HTTPS and does not read the content you send or receive. This list resides only on your phone.
• URL check: see if a page is blocked on your network or not, when GreenTunnel is turned off and on.
• Quick control: Quick Settings box, home screen widget, notification button, and support for always-on VPN from the system.

SMART ROUTING (PREMIUM)

• Proxy Route: send data through a proxy you own or trust (encrypted HTTPS or Shadowsocks proxy). Add manually, from the link or scan a QR code.
• Tunnel Link: connect through your own WireGuard server while GreenTunnel is still running.
• Rules: select which domain or application goes through which route.

Data only goes to a remote server after you add and select that server. You choose the server, and the server operator can see the data you send through it. GreenTunnel does not provide or operate these servers.

PREMIUM AND ACCOUNT

GreenTunnel is free and may display ads. Premium removes ads, unlocks Smart Routing (Proxy Route and Tunnel Link), and filters Requester by application. You choose a self-renewing plan on a monthly, 3-month, 6-month, or yearly basis, or buy a one-time lifetime package. All other features in the app are free. Logging in with Google, Apple, or email is optional, only to maintain Premium across all your devices. You can cancel the plan in Google Play and delete the account directly in the app at any time.

WHAT GREENTUNNEL DOES NOT DO

• Does not hide your IP address and does not change your location unless you send data through a proxy or tunnel of your choice.
• Not an anonymous service.
• Does not decrypt HTTPS.
• Your VPN traffic and web browsing are never used for advertising.

YOUR DATA

• Web browsing activity is never sent to us: no domain, URL, IP address, or data content.
• Firebase Analytics records app usage events, such as "protection enabled," and Firebase Crashlytics sends error reports. These help us fix issues.
• If you log in, we store your email and account code to link the purchased package. Purchase history is handled by RevenueCat.
• Ads are provided by Google AdMob. Ads are only personalized if you allow it, using your advertising ID, otherwise they are non-personalized ads. To display ads and prevent fraud, AdMob collects some device data and uses it, such as device identification code, approximate location based on IP address, and ad interaction. Ads never see your VPN traffic or web browsing. Premium users do not see ads.
