The Cameraman app consolidates the tools of camera and network technicians into one application, used from the site survey until the handover to the customer.

When to use the Cameraman:

Scan for cameras in the network. When arriving at an office with dozens of IP cameras and no one remembers the IP addresses, you just need to tap Scan. The app lists all cameras and recorders in the network, along with IP addresses, brands, models, MAC addresses, and open ports. From this list, you can change IP addresses, sync time, adjust the OSD display text, or reboot individual devices or all at once.

Survey before drilling. For multi-story buildings, you place the cameras on a floor plan image or hand drawings of each floor to see each camera's viewpoint and where walls obstruct the view. The app estimates cable lengths and adds them directly to the materials list. Multi-story diagrams are included in the PRO version.

Adjust camera angles on-site. View live footage directly from scan results, use a level and a 3x3 grid overlay on the image to straighten the angle, and check the video feed of each camera.

Handover to the customer. Add materials from your pricing table, have customers and technicians sign directly on the screen, then export a PDF acceptance report. The app also creates a PDF file titled "Camera Installation Plan" that describes the observation area in easy-to-understand language, without listing IPs or passwords, so you can send it directly to the customer.

Technical details:

Network scanning: detects devices through ONVIF WS-Discovery, Hikvision SADP, Dahua DHDiscover, Xiongmai, and mDNS, while also scanning TCP ports. The app automatically classifies found devices into cameras and recorders.

Check internal network security: reports open Telnet/FTP ports, default or overly short passwords. The passwords you enter are only compared on your device.

View multiple cameras simultaneously: up to 9 cameras (3x3 grid) on a phone, 16 cameras (4x4 grid) on a tablet and computer. Control PTZ if the camera supports it.

Network tools: ping, measure jitter, check ports, measure network speed, traceroute, calculate the storage capacity of the recorder, calculate PoE power supply capacity, and a color code reference for network cable ends T568A/B.

Pricing: there is a free version and a PRO version, with no ads.

Platform: already available on the App Store for iPhone and iPad.

Beta version for other platforms (installation instructions at kaifuz.com/vi/thocam/beta):

• Mac: via TestFlight, using the same invitation link as for iPhone and iPad.
• Android: closed testing on Google Play, awaiting approval from Google. You need to join the tho-cam-beta-testers group first, then open the registration link for testing.
• Windows (64-bit) and Linux (AppImage, x86_64): download directly, with a SHA256 checksum to verify the file.

Users of the beta version get free access to the PRO package until 31/01/2027.

There is currently no official release date on Google Play, Mac App Store, and Microsoft Store.
