Krust.io started with a pretty simple feeling: I just wanted a Kubernetes GUI that opens as quickly as the terminal, is lightweight like a native app, but still deep enough for daily debugging.

Many current tools are either very powerful but heavy, or fast but must reside in the terminal. Krust chooses a middle path: native macOS, quick cold start, low RAM usage, cluster switching almost instantaneously, viewing resources/logs/events/YAML/CRD/port-forward in a tidy workflow.

Behind Krust is Rust core + SwiftUI, with one principle: Kubernetes client should not consume GBs of RAM just to view a pod.

Krust does not aim to replace kubectl or k9s. It is a lightweight “control room” for those moments when you need to see the cluster more clearly, debug faster, and do not want the cluster management app to become an additional burden.
