LiteKey is neatly located on the menu bar, completely written in Swift, and runs on Apple Silicon Macs from macOS 13 onwards. The typing engine is ported from OpenKey and achieves a 100% match with the original C++ version across the entire test data set along with 200,000 random keys. Each key is processed in less than a millisecond, so even if you type quickly in Chrome, VS Code, Slack, or Terminal, the letters are accurate and no characters are missed.

It supports Telex, VNI, spell checking, self-recovery from English (typing class still produces class), shortcut compatibility with UniKey/OpenKey, and remembers the Vietnamese/English mode for each application separately.

Regarding privacy: LiteKey requires Accessibility permission to read the keys you type and replace them with accented letters. This is a common requirement for all input methods that use event tap on macOS, not just LiteKey. Additionally, LiteKey contains no lines of code that connect to the internet, has no analytics, and does not save the content you type. Settings are only stored in UserDefaults on your machine. The source code is open under the GPL v3 license, and anyone with doubts can read the code for verification.
