By default, macOS only mounts Windows NTFS drives in read-only mode, and familiar writing methods often require a kernel extension or macFUSE. Yuzu NTFS uses Apple's FSKit (macOS 26 and above): no kext, no macFUSE, no need to restart, Mac still maintains Full Security status.

Four steps to get started:

1. Drag Yuzu NTFS into Applications and open it; the icon will appear in the menu bar.
2. Accept the backup notice for the beta version.
3. Enable the file system extension by clicking the "Enable Yuzu NTFS" button (or System Preferences → General → Login Items & Utilities → File System Utilities).
4. Plug in the NTFS drive. The drive mounts in read-only mode first; enable "Allow writing (beta)" for each drive you trust to read and write in Finder and Terminal.

Read-only mode has its reasons, no forced write button:

• Windows is in hibernation or Fast Startup is enabled: hold Shift while shutting down Windows or disable Fast Startup.
• The drive is marked as dirty: run chkdsk /f on Windows and then safely eject.
• BitLocker encrypted drives: recognized but not mounted or decrypted.

Beta version limitations: no formatting, no drive repairs, no log replay; can read sparse files and LZNT1 compressed files but cannot write; cannot read or write EFS encrypted content. Always safely eject the drive and back up important data.

No telemetry: filesystem operations run on the machine, diagnostic ZIP files are only exported when you choose. Open-source under GNU GPL v2 on GitHub.
