Yuzu Sync synchronizes a folder on your Mac with a folder or external hard drive, connected NAS, a folder on an SSH server, or your S3-compatible bucket. You choose the source, destination, synchronization method, and schedule; the application handles subsequent runs from the menu bar.

Three synchronization methods:

• Copy (default): adds and updates files from A to B, never deleting in B.
• Match source: makes B identical to A, with extra files in B moved to the archive.
• Two-way (between two local or connected folders): synchronizes changes on both sides. When a file is modified on both sides, the task pauses for you to decide, or automatically keeps the newer version if you choose; the remaining version goes into the archive.

Besides drives and NAS:

• SSH server: Copy or Match source to or from a folder on the server or another Mac. Use SSH keys, agent, and ~/.ssh/config, without logging in via password; the server needs rsync 3.1 or higher.
• S3 Bucket: back up to Amazon S3, Cloudflare R2, or S3-compatible services over HTTPS, and restore to your Mac. Yuzu does not provide storage capacity.
• Each task always has a folder on your Mac; no direct synchronization between two servers or two buckets.

Run when connected to a drive, daily, weekly, or periodically, and there's always a Sync button right on the menu bar.

Data safety:

• Preview the list of changes before writing; when needing to delete multiple files, the task pauses for your approval.
• The default archive keeps deleted or replaced files for 30 days (choose 1–365 days or permanently).
• Remembers external drives by UUID: another drive with the same name is denied before any writing.
• SSH: Upon first connection, you review the server key fingerprint; if the key changes, the task pauses before data transfer.
• History keeps the last 50 runs for each task.

Tasks, settings, and history are on your Mac, no account needed. The S3 secret key is stored in macOS's Login Keychain. The application has the rsync synchronization tool available.
