Recently, I've been participating in a lot of meetings and the need to write meeting reports is a crucial factor every time a meeting ends. Sometimes when summarizing to create a report, I can’t remember all the key points and end up wasting time listening to the recorded meeting again.

I find this task to be quite repetitive, and I have also used other tools like chatGPT, Gemini, or NotebookLM. Most of the time, I have to perform numerous actions before achieving results, and sometimes they don't align with my expectations. These actions consume a lot of my time and I see them happening repeatedly.

From these pain points, as a backend developer, I experimented and turned the idea into an app called Scribble to address the issues I am facing. After much time spent testing and continuously fixing bugs, today I want to share it with everyone to use and provide feedback so that the product can bring additional value to the Vietnamese community and friends in other countries.

Main features:

• Record both microphone and system audio — Zoom/Meet/Teams meetings without needing external speakers, the app captures directly.

• Real-time transcript — text runs in parallel while speaking, no waiting for processing after the meeting.

• Automatic speaker identification (A/B/C) — the AI model distinguishes voices automatically, no need to manually label each segment.

• Multilingual — Vietnamese, English, Japanese, Korean, Chinese… (depending on the STT provider you choose).

• Automatic meeting minutes generation — AI summarizes highlights, action items, deadlines, and key decisions. Directly copy to Slack/Notion.

• Bring-your-own-key — you use your own API key (Soniox / OpenAI / Gemini / Claude).

• Local-first — audio + transcript stored on your device. The app has no backend, no telemetry, nothing sent to the cloud except when calling the API you have configured.

• Auto-update — the new Scribble version notifies via a banner in the app, 1-click update. The granted mic + system audio permissions are not reset (thanks to stable digital signing).

• Native, lightweight — built with Tauri (Rust + React), not Electron 300MB. Initially, the unpacking process takes about 1 minute, but subsequent app openings will be much faster (~3s).

• Bilingual UI — Vietnamese + English, toggle 1 click on the top nav.

• Open source — public on GitHub, audit each line of code.

• 3 platforms — macOS (Apple Silicon M1-M4), Windows 10+, Linux (AppImage).
